Summer is here.and Willits Center for the Arts wants to make sure that Willits kids have a chance to make art! This summer, WCA will present 3 week-long classes for ages 7-11, from 10am till 1pm.

From June 15 – 18 , Cierra Bakewell will explore The World of Puppetry, using felt & mixed media to build puppets and bring them to life through storytelling.

Over the course of the week, students will:

• Design and build their own tabletop puppets using felt and other mixed media materials
• Explore character design through color, texture, and form
• Experiment with different construction techniques
• Personalize and refine their puppets over multiple days

The focus would be on the creative process and craftsmanship, giving students time to
develop their ideas and build something unique they can take home.

These artists and teachers will be assisted by some of Willits most creative High School youth mentors, bringing new skills, creativity, and FUN to this FREE summer program. Space is limited, with one weekly class available per child, so register now at www.willitscenterforthearts.org, or in person at the WCA gallery desk, Friday thru Sunday from 11am – 5pm.
